Greater Noida Authority (GNIDA) — Complete Guide
Greater Noida is planned and governed entirely by one body: the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), commonly called the Greater Noida Authority or GreNo Authority. If you’re buying, building, or investing in Greater Noida, GNIDA is the authority that approves your plot, registers your property, and plans the roads, parks, and infrastructure around it.
What is GNIDA?
GNIDA was established on 28 January 1991 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the UP Industrial Area Development Act, 1976. It functions under the state’s Department of Infrastructure and Industrial Development and is one of nine industrial development authorities in Uttar Pradesh — sister authorities to Noida Authority and YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority), which governs the separate Yamuna Expressway belt.
Current leadership (as of March 2026):
- Chairman: Manoj Kumar Singh, IAS
- CEO: Ravi Kumar N G, IAS
Head office: Plot No. 1, Knowledge Park-IV, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddh Nagar, UP 201308 Official website: greaternoidaauthority.in
What Does GNIDA Do?
GNIDA is responsible for the full planning and administration cycle of Greater Noida:
- Land allotment and plot schemes (residential, commercial, industrial, institutional)
- Building plan approvals and structural safety checks
- Property registry and mutation processing
- Roads, water supply, sewage, and public infrastructure
- Attracting industrial investment (Greater Noida has drawn over ₹10,000 crore in industrial investment, largely through Ecotech zones)
GNIDA vs YEIDA — Don’t Confuse the Two
A common buyer mix-up: GNIDA governs Greater Noida proper (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Knowledge Park, Ecotech, etc.), while YEIDA governs the separate Yamuna Expressway belt (including areas near Jewar Airport). If you’re looking at a plot near the airport or along the expressway, that falls under YEIDA, not GNIDA — the application process, scheme structure, and offices are different. Current Plot Schemes Under GNIDA (update quarterly)
GNIDA regularly releases plots through e-auction across categories:
- Residential plots (LOP series schemes)
- Commercial plots and shop/office/kiosk schemes (CSK, CPS series)
- Institutional plots
- IT/ITES plots
- Builder plots (BRS series)
Note: scheme codes and dates change frequently — this section needs a monthly content-refresh cadence, pulling current live schemes from greaternoidaauthority.in, rather than being written once and left static.
